One of the most exciting moments yet in our construction of 565 Quincy was the commencement of drywall installation in the loft homes which occurred just after the holidays. I know, you're thinking how can drywall be exciting? Well, once the drywalling of the homes begins, you have truly hit your final phase of construction as the elements left to be installed amounts primarily to interior unit finishes, e.g. flooring, tile, cabinets and fixtures. We're almost there!

But what is most striking is how the homes feel now that they're drywalled. I've been walking through our building for over two years and I've known that the high ceilings would give the lofts a terrific, open feel. But you can't really envision just how they'll look until the drywall is installed; it draws your eyes up the wall making the height far more dramatic than I expected. These are going to be GREAT homes.

Another exciting element is commencing this week. If you've passed by the building recently, you've noticed our tower changing color. Yellow, exterior sheathing was installed previously and on top of that black, water-proof membrane has been applied. Now we're ready for the metal panels to be installed to give the building its final look. You'll begin to see this occur later this week and into next, it will take a few months to complete, but will be well worth the wait.

And finally, our Q Room continues to take shape. The movie theater room will feature a 92" projection screen, surround sound and elevated seating to give you that REAL movie theater experience. All you need to provide is the popcorn . . .
